Elegant Autumnal Get-Together

Last weekend, my parents threw their first party in our new home. It was a lovely Fall get-together for my Dad's staff, and we also preformed a house blessing for our new lives here.

My mom and her friends created these lovely floral arrangements. They featured bright sunflowers, cranberry garlands, and aromatic rosemary that complemented the evening perfectly!

We set up two tables inside for the adults, and one outside on the back deck for the kids.

The outdoor seating arrangement.

We served the food from the island.

My mom prepared a wonderful meal: Cranberry-Pecan salad, French Bread, and two types of Lasagna.

The weather was perfect; sunny, cool, and ideal for enjoying a meal.

The beautiful house blessing started with the lighting of candles held by Jonathan and Matthew.

My favorite moment of the night was when we all prayed together in the fourier

Each Waters kid took turns reading Bible verses from the Lutheran Hymnal, it was overall a very special and memorable experience and a great way to initiate our new lives here.

I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them on my new camera!

XOXO,

The Next Chapter

5 August 2016
For every beginning, there must come an end. I think American poet, Anne Bradstreet, said it best in her poem "Before the Birth of One of Her Children" when she concluded that "all things within this fading world hath end." And I, my friends, am in the middle of a big ending.
I have moved four times, and lived in three different states. These statistics, however, are about to change as I move for the fifth time, to my fourth state: Texas. That's right... Texas. Over 2,000 miles away from my friends, my school, my church, my life. The thought of leaving is daunting, exciting, and scary. As I prepare for my new life in Texas, I must also prepare to let a part of me-a big part of me- go; leaving it in the past.
No where else have I felt so loved, so blessed, so happy as I have in Ohio. I've met my best friends, experienced highs and lows, discovered myself, and tried so many "firsts." Though I am excited for the next chapter of my life, it hurts terribly to leave you. Thank you for the past eight and a half years.
I was born in Minnesota,
Raised in North Dakota,
But I grew up in Ohio.

Until we meet again,

Fourth of July 2016

If you know me, you know my love for holidays and all the celebrations that come with them. The
Fourth of July is definitely in my top five. I absolutely love the in-your-face patriotism, festive parties, and the chance to celebrate the great country of America. Oh, and some fireworks and sparklers never hurt either...
Here are a few highlights from my Fourth:

Hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day!
